Daily Update
Movin' thru Congress yesterday...
The Senate voted on several amendments to H.R. 3288: Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2010. I find the amendments very interesting.
Amendment 2371 (Proposed by Sen. Coburn R-OK) - To remove an unnecessary and burdensome mandate on the States, by allowing them to opt out of a provision that requires States to spend 10 percent of their surface transportation budgets on enhancement projects such as road-kill reduction and highway beautification. TN Senators Alexander and Corker for to adopt this amendment (and rightly so!). Unfortunately, this amendment was defeated (59-39, 1 not voting).
Amendment 2372 (Proposed by Sen. Coburn R-OK) - To fully provide for the critical surface transportation needs of the United States by prohibiting funds from being used on lower-priority projects, such as transportation museums. The votes of TN Senators were as follows: Sen. Corker voted to adopt this amendment but Sen. Alexander voted against it! Unfortunately, this amendment was also defeated (57-41, 1 not voting). Shame on Sen. Alexander! Due to our outrageous deficit, we DO NOT NEED ANY TRANSPORTATION MUSEUMS AND SHOULD NOT BE PAYING FOR THEM!
There was another amendment (to the same bill) which was adopted and is a small victory for the 2nd Amendment (proposed by Sen. Wicker R-MS). It permits Amtrak passengers to safely transport firearms and ammunition in their checked baggage. The Amendment 2366 passed 68-39 with 1 not voting. Both TN Senators voted for the amendment.
And another: Amendment 2376 (proposed by Sen. Vitter R-LA) which was to "To affirm the continuing existence of the community service requirements under section 12(c) of the United States Housing Act of 1937." This amendment passed 73-25, 1 not voting. Both TN Senators voted for this amendment.
The House passed a bill that I mentioned yesterday: HR 3246: Advanced Vehicle Technology Act of 2009. The bill passed 312-114, 7 not voting. The TN Delegation voted as follows:
NO: Roe, Duncan, Blackburn YES: Wamp, Davis, Cooper, Gordon, Cohen NOT VOTING: Tanner

I'm not talking much about the Baucus health care bill today. I haven't read it yet (can't get to the site) and, from what I've heard, it's more of the same (government-controlled co-ops, HUGE taxes...you know the story). WSJ's take on it here....

Do you watch Bill O'Reilly on FOX News? I watch him on occasion but usually have to hold my nose to do so. I always though he was a liberal and I don't trust him. Well, last night he slipped and the true O'Reilly came out! He admitted that he's for the 'public option'. Of course, this admission came after he said that President Obama really has no ties to ACORN! Yeah, right, and I have no fondness for chocolate. Anyway, no more Bill O'Reilly for me. I don't support any liberal news media. I don't care who they are.

Race and the Presidency - UPDATED
I want to talk about the issue of race and the Presidency today. If you're a news junkie like I am, it seems that the race issue is suddenly on the pages of every news site. The articles are always the same..... someone - usually someone on the right - criticizes the Obama Presidency and they're immediately labeled a racist. Why is it racist to criticize a President who happens to be black? Is he not subject to the same scrutiny as any other President? Do you not think that Hillary Clinton would be criticized just as harshly if she tried to implement the very same radical agenda (and I think she would have!!)? Frankly, it is the Democrat Party that has this obsession with race. HE IS MY PRESIDENT AND I'LL CRITICIZE HIM ANY TIME I NEED TO! I don't give a dam what color he is. I mean that sincerely. I don't care.
Obama is a radical progressive. I despise his beliefs and his vision for this country. I do not believe he has the respect for the Constitution that a President MUST have. I disagree philosophically with almost everything he does. I think he wants to radically change the laws in this country via the Supreme Court. I disagree with his desire to re-distribute wealth and to punish those who have worked hard in this country for what they have. I am scared by his desire to socialize our entire health care system. I think it is disgusting that he sends out goons via ACORN and the unions in order to protest for socialized medicine in return for large sums of money for their organizations. I think he pits one class of Americans against another and pits all against one of the backbones of this country - big business. I am very concerned about his Czars which I believe were hired to circumvent Constitutional oversight by the Senate. I don't like his association with George Soros or many other organizations that, in my opinion, could very well have criminal ties. Don't forget about his ties to Van Jones (self-avowed Communist), Bill Ayres, Reverend Wright and many others. I don't think he has any respect for the military nor does he have a clue about how to protect our country militarily. I think he is an appeaser of militant Islam and that worries me. So does his idea to transfer Gitmo detainees to America....and the ridiculous game he's playing with the CIA. I think he would sell out Israel or the UK in a second and that worries me too. I am disturbed by the fact that the media has blind adoration for this man and I wonder how it got that way. I am also suspicious of the fact that he ignores the one network - FOX - that is critical of him and he refuses to talk to them. I am concerned about the fact that his Attorney General dropped a case against 2 Black Panthers who were guarding an election polling place with weapons. I am bothered by the fact that his Treasury Secretary is a tax cheat. I am appalled that one of the first things Obama did after his inauguration was to move the 2010 into the White House and am fearful of what this means for our future elections. I am fearful of his ties to ACORN and their obvious attempts to circumvent free and fair elections. I don't like the fact that he refused to release his college records or birth certificate because I believe that this could tell us things about him that he doesn't want us to know even if he is a U.S. citizen. I have seen him look into a camera and blatantly lie about what's in the House health care bill.... and about the fact that he won't raise the taxes of middle class America. I despise the fact that he's trying to take away my First Amendment rights via the 'back door' of the FCC and his crooked Chief Diversity Officer. I think his views on global warming and the 'green movement' are misguided at best and devious at worst. I think he's totally dishonest about his desire to allow oil drilling in this country and have no doubt he will do everything he can to stop it via very sneaky means while telling the American people that he's supporting it. I really don't believe that this man sees himself as the President of all of the people in this country. In his mind, he is the President of the people he likes.... the ones that he thinks deserve more than they have. I could go on and on...
UPDATE: I wanted to add a few more things I dislike and distrust about President Obama's policies: his civilian army, his desire to set the pay and bonuses of workers at private companies, the fact that he's allowing unions to set policies and giving unions workers advantages in our society, his attempt to make us pay for abortion, his failure to implement these 'cost saving' measures immediately that he claims can save us BILLIONS in health care costs, his dirty deals with pharmaceutical companies that he refuses to implement unless we give him control of our health care!!
President Obama's view of America does not match the one I have. I have the same view that our Founding Fathers had. President Obama does not. I think we live in the greatest country in the world. He does not. He sees it as fundamentally flawed. He is wrong.
I think that the Democrats use race as an diversion. They'll do anything to avoid the discussion of real issues. They use race to quiet the voices on the right. I wish that they would get over their racism and simply see Obama for the flawed individual that he is. I wish that their desire to preserve the wonderful freedoms of this country was as strong as mine. But it's not.
By the time that this man is out of office, the racial divide in this country will be huge. It didn't have to be. But the Democrats want it that way. They don't want the blacks in this country to reach their full potential but would, instead, like to keep the black community in crisis so that they can retain the votes. Obama had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many people in this country. But he chose not to. Why?

Last night I attended the monthly meeting of the Wilson County Tea Party. Several members attended the HUGE March on Washington last Saturday and said that the crowds were unbelievable!!! In addition, members of the Tennessee Tea Party dropped off the signed petitions against government-run health care to the Representatives. Guess who was rude, combative and argumentative? Why.....it's BART GORDON!!! You know....he's the good ole' Blue Dog .... the one who's going to vote against government-run health care!! RIGHT!!!!!

The House is expected to give a big 'NO-NO' to SC Representative Joe Wilson for his honest outburst during President Obama's speech last week. Keep in mind that they aren't doing anything about ACORN but Joe Wilson is a huge priority for them!! This is why so many of them need to GO!!Keep both ears open about health care today. Word is that the Senate will come out with their health care bill today or tomorrow. I'll post an update when I hear about it.

Today is Saturday, September 12th. Something very special is happening in Washington DC today and I'd like you to pay attention to it. As you may have heard, Glenn Beck launched the 9/12 Project earlier this year and it's grown tremendously. People from all over the country - hopefully tens of thousands of regular Americans - are transcending on Washington to tell the politicians to stop bankrupting this country, stay out of our health care, stop trampling on our Constitution and a number of other things that really need to be said. I know that FOX will report it (Glenn Beck will be live from the rally at 12noon today on FOX) but I wonder if any other the other channels will regardless how many people are there? I encourage you to watch it.
As I mentioned, only FOX is covering the ACORN scandal while the other channels protect the Democrats. However, CNN did cover a scandal today that didn't even occur!!! Here.

The morning after...
You may be surprised to hear this but I didn't watch the speech. I have heard Obama blatantly LIE about what's in the bill (House Bill HR 3200) and, as a result, couldn't stand to watch more of the lies. As I always say... watch what he does rather than what he says. That way you'll know exactly what he REALLY wants.
I know that he spoke of a bi-partisan bill but did you know that the Republicans have been asking to meet with him regarding health care since APRIL but he has refused their request EVERY TIME?? Rep. Tom Price from Georgia stated this day before yesterday on Steve Gill's radio show and I also saw an article on it that appeared for a brief time on Drudge. Of course, the President accused the opposition of not providing any alternatives but THEY HAVE! Here is one of them: HR 3400 - Empowering Patients First Act As a matter of fact, Republicans have introduced approximately 800 bills and pieces of legislation about health care but almost all have been rejected by the Dems. Simple fact is that the President really doesn't care what the opposition thinks and the Dems want control of your life rather than a health debate on this subject! As Beck pointed out, you have to be concerned that a man with this type of background has gotten so close to the President. Of course, assuming that you believe (as I do) that the FBI uncovered everything about this man that Beck has uncovered, is it possible that OBAMA brought Van Jones into his administration fully aware of his radical background? Well, yesterday Beck played a newly uncovered video in which Obama's closet adviser, Valerie Jarret, blatantly states that they had been watching Van Jones for many years before bringing him into their inner circle. This eliminates any doubt as to whether or not Obama was fully aware of Van Jones' background. Then one question remains:
Why would the President of the United States bring such a radical communist into his administration?
It is time to make your feelings known to the WH as well as to your Senators and Representatives. This man has to GO. September 18, 2008 .... George Soros
Several days ago, I posted some information about left-wing radical George Soros. He funds many of the RADICAL left-wing groups. In 1992, he personally "broke" the British pound.
Hope that you had a chance to read some of the links I provided as well as did some investigating of your own. You need to keep an eye on Soros.
Now let me tell you another story.
I'm sure you remember last fall (2008) when the bottom SUDDENLY dropped out of the stock market. I know that I remember - couldn't forget it - because we lost a lot of our retirement savings. I know we didn't see it coming nor did any financial manager that I can think of. The mutual fund managers didn't see it, the business channels on television didn't see it, the newspapers didn't see it. We knew that the housing market had been in decline in many areas but that had been going on for quite some time. The stock market had declined some but nothing dramatic. But what in the world.....

Were those events really enough to cause a run on money market funds equivalent to $5.5 TRILLION dollars in a few hours?
I know that President Bush mentioned in, at least, 2 to 3 of his press conferences following this rapid decline that the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) was investigating some "unusual activity in the market". I heard him say this myself. Therefore, it does not appear that the President and his advisers thought that this rapid decline was easily explainable.
You, therefore, have to ask these questions: Is it possible that George Soros was involved in an orchestrated $550 billion dollar run on American money market funds in order to destroy our economy's investment funds? Could China or Iran have been involved? Some other evil country? Could Soros have been working with one of these hostile countries to cause our downfall?
If so, WHY?
On Monday, September 15th, John McCain was leading Barack Obama 49% to 47% in a Rasmussen poll.
Six weeks later, Barack Obama won the 2008 Presidential election.

On Thursday (Sept 18), at 11am the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous draw-down of money market accounts in the U.S., to the tune of $550 billion was being drawn out in the matter of an hour or two. The Treasury opened up its window to help and pumped a $105 billion in the system and quickly realized that they could not stem the tide. We were having an electronic run on the banks. They decided to close the operation, close down the money accounts and announce a guarantee of $250,000 per account so there wouldn't be further panic out there.So, WHAT HAPPENED? I sure don't know. I know that Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy on Monday the 15th. In the following days, several money market funds had to write off the loses attributed to the Lehman bankruptcy. On the 18th, Putnam Investments’ Prime Money Market Fund announced it was liquidating its $15 billion dollar fund. And then the bottom fell out.
If they had not done that, their estimation is that by 2pm that afternoon, $5.5 trillion would have been drawn out of the money market system of the U.S., would have collapsed the entire economy of the U.S., and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed. It would have been the end of our economic system and our political system as we know it.

I saw a small snippet on Bill O'Reilly's show indicating that Bush held a Ramadan dinner for the Islamic community in 2007 (don't know if he had done it previously or not). Unfortunately, I did not see the entire segment so I don't know the details. If so, he was just as idiotic as Obama! We should not be treating this religion as a peaceful one! Unbelievable. STOP CATERING TO THOSE WHO ARE OUT TO DESTROY US!

However, an anti-government-run-health-care-protester (obviously one of the mob) who witnessed the entire incident called into Rush Limbaugh's show today and provided a detailed report of the incident. The witness who called in was the person who retrieved the victim's finger and brought it to the hospital.
One of Obama's thugs came across the street to confront the anti-protesters who were on a sidewalk. The thug chose to directly confront the 65 year old man, got in his face and immediately started an argument with him. A fight ensued and the thug bit off the finger of the 65 year old. It was entirely the fault of the Obama thug. Update: The 65 year old victim admitted on Cavuto that he threw the first punch but, keep in mind, that the Obama thug came across the street to confront the victim. In other words, the Obama thug started the confrontation.

I think I mentioned this before but it's worth mentioning again: August was the deadliest month since the start of the Iraq/Afghanistan war (here). I'll bet you're not hearing this on the state-run media (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC).

A continuing story... I mentioned previously that the Dems in Massachusetts passed a law in 2004 to prevent then-Governor Romney (R) from naming a successor to John Kerry in the event he won the 2004 election. However, now they want things back the 'old way' so that the Democrat Governor CAN appoint a tempy successor to Ted Kennedy. They are suddenly worried about the citizens and their lack of representation in Washington. Law means nothing to these people and Republicans definitely have no rights! (Here)
DC Power Brokers Launch Efforts for Federalized Voter Registration ... Hate to sound like a broken record but I no longer trust the federal government AT ALL. There are too many self-avowed Communists working for Obama and too many people who have Fascist tendencies (including the President). While I agree that something has to be done about ACORN, I don't want the Feds to control our elections. We are losing sight of the 10th Amendment - state sovereignty.

Who is the man behind the curtain?
Have you ever heard of George Soros?
In my opinion and in the opinion of many, he is an evil man.....and....he's the financial strength behind the Democrat Party. He is likely the one providing much of the funding for the radical turn to leftwing extremism that the Democrat Party has taken.
He is behind the Democrat's Shadow Government.
I'm not going to rewrite the book on him because there is a lot of information already out there. But I really want you to understand the money and motives behind this man. I want you to know about his ties to many organizations that are pushing socialized medicine, climate change legislation, gay rights agenda, abortion, gun ban legislation, illegal immigration rights and other radical bills that will transform our country into something we've never seen before.
You'll have to do some reading to learn about him but it's very important.

He is infamous for being the man who “broke” the Bank of England. On Black Wednesday, 1992, the Bank of England had failed to float its currency or to raise its interest rates. One of Soros’ partners, Stanley Druckenmiller, saw the weak position this put the pound in. George Soros then capitalized on this by selling short an enormous amount of pounds, in excess of $10 billion USD worth. When the Bank of England did finally devalue the pound in response, George Soros made more than $1.1 billion USD in profit.Now, I've got to ask this question? Is it possible, is it probable ... oh, forget about it. I'll ask the question later.
